Sometimes it’s not just genetics or health—our daily hair habits quietly contribute to hair fall, breakage and dullness.
One common mistake is rough towel drying. Rubbing wet hair hard with a towel breaks fragile strands. Instead, gently squeeze out water and wrap hair in a soft towel or old T-shirt to absorb moisture.
Tight hairstyles—very tight ponytails, buns or braids—put constant tension on roots. Over time, this can cause traction hair loss around the forehead and sides. Loosen your hairstyles and give your scalp “down time”.
Over-shampooing with harsh products can strip natural oils, making hair and scalp dry, itchy or flaky. On the other hand, never washing or using too much oil without proper cleansing can clog the scalp. Find a balance based on your scalp type and lifestyle.
Heat styling without protection—straighteners, curlers, very hot blow-drying—damages the hair shaft. Use heat only when needed and always with a heat-protectant product.
Finally, diet and stress matter a lot. If hair fall suddenly increases or you see thinning, check your sleep, nutrition and stress levels—and consult a doctor if it continues.
